"..that I may...become more deeply and intimately acquainted with him..." Philippians 3:10 Amp.
In our daily living, relationships are dependent on meeting with people, talking with them and spending some time together.
This is also true for the highest possible relationship open to us - that is, our fellowship and friendship with our creator God. We deepen our intimacy with Him when we speak in prayer with Our Father in Heaven.
We often feel awkward or inarticulate before God, thinking that we are unskilled or untrained in the process. So relax, in the presence of the kindest being in the Universe, He is Abba our Father (literally Daddy) and He knows all about us before we even begin to speak. So we invite the Helper, God's Holy Spirit, to draw close to our hearts and help us to communicate with one another.
Even Jesus' disciples living with him daily had to say "Lord, teach us to pray."
Prayer is seeking to draw close to God and spending time in His presence. The more we meet, the stronger becomes the bond between us. As Christians, we believe that the promises that Jesus made are true, and that when we invite the Holy Spirit to come into our lives, we can expect assistance as we try to pray.
"...God's Spirit does our praying in us and for us..." Rom 8:26
| Our Prayer Group meets informally every month on a mid-week afternoon in the church. We pray for the needs of our congregation and for the members of all of the Churches. Individual prayer requests are given to our Secretary and these are confidentially addressed, seeking God's blessing. The needs of the wider world are also remembered before God in prayer. | Next Prayer time : Wednesday 24th.October at 2pm. in the Tryst ( at rear of Church)
